The Roasted Dad Expresso Show braai segment with Woolworths

I was back on Expresso, running the Woolworths braai segment with Graeme Richards. Live TV is not easy. The segment was incredibly quick, and I had no idea how it came across, but I hope it will encourage fellow South Africans to start braaing again now that it’s spring.

Stir Crazy Cooking Culinary Theatre

Lianne and I get invited to many events, but it’s not often that we are handed an apron and a knife block before the night is out. So when Stir Crazy Cooking asked us along to their Culinary Theatre on 5 June, we were curious to see what they had planned. It turned out to be part cooking class, part kitchen tour, and part product launch, all rolled into one long, well-fed evening.

The best Claremont coffee shop to work from

We’ve all been there: the dreaded “car service day.” You drop the keys off at the repair shop, and have two hours of time to fill.

On April 9th, I found myself in exactly that position. Instead of hanging around and killing time scrolling through my phone, I took a short walk to I Love Coffee on Garfield Road. I went in looking for a caffeine fix, and a place to work on my laptop. I left with a renewed appreciation for this Cape Town small business that does so much more than serve coffee.

HOME.BAO’s Frozen Dumplings and Potstickers

I love cooking with Asian flavours, but making these little pockets of goodness from scratch myself is not something I’ve ventured into. And with HOME.BAO, I don’t have to! I met Tina when I visited the MasterChef set. We quickly got talking and realised we had a lot in common: we are both foodies -of course- but also entrepreneurs.
